Overview

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, as well as assisting the kitchen staff in various tasks. The Kitchen Steward will ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are cleaned and sanitized, as will also be responsible for stocking supplies, receiving orders, and maintaining inventory.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $18 to $20.

Responsibilities
• Ensures highest sanitation levels for all items previously used so that they may be used again in clean condition, free of any contamination risk
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils and dishes.
• Ensure that all kitchen areas are clean and organized, including floors, walls and counter tops.
• Stock supplies and maintain inventory of cleaning and sanitation products.
• Assist in food preparation and plating, as needed.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment at all times.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly storage areas for kitchen equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager

Qualifications
• Previous kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to life and move heavy objects, such as boxes and equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
