Responsibilities

Under the direction of the section Lead Technologist or designee the laboratory assistant is responsible for laboratory support activities. The primary functions include but are not limited to performing phlebotomy (blood collection by venipuncture or capillary) on all patients working with LIS and HIS processing of all types of biological and medical specimens and performing clerical and reception duties in the laboratory office. Qualifications

Experience

One year of Phlebotomy experience

Two years of laboratory experience preferred

Education

High School diploma or equivalent required

Licensure

Current California State Clinical Phlebotomy License. CT PHLEBOT

Special Skills

This position requires the knowledge in medical terminology as it applies to the laboratory

Training

Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training
