Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to obtaining lab authorizations/scheduling for both in house and outside lab tests and genetic testing for entire practice.
  • Schedules physician referrals and/or outside testing and labs as directed by physician.
  • Obtains necessary insurance authorization.
  • Communicates to patients the type of test, any necessary prep, and date/time/location of appointment.
  • Follows up on all tests to ensure completion prior to next visit with physician.
  • Researches and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years medical office experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
