Job Summary:
Under the direction of the LIS Coordinator and Clinical Laboratory Director, the LIS Analyst provides technical application support for core and departmental information systems as assigned. Technical support includes analyzing, designing, implementing and troubleshooting various applications software.

Education:
Required: Licensed as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician with the State of Tennessee Laboratory Licensing Board

Experience:
3-5 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting

Preferred:
2 years of medical IT experience in addition to experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Department Position Summary:
Under the direction of the LIS Coordinator and the Clinical Laboratory Director, the LIS Analyst must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support the information system to which he/she is assigned. System analysts are assigned to support departmental and enterprise applications.

As such, the employee must also:
Use appropriate analytical skills and techniques to trouble-shoot problems involving applications with which he/she may not be familiar;
Research and learn about the software applications, often on-the-job and will not always be able to receive formal technical training about each application;
Appropriately respond to emergencies with production system in a timely manner;
Use the applicable software utilities and applications to support the systems;
Evaluate new software applications to determine whether the application meets both the end-user business needs as well as TMD technical standards.
Understand the business processes in the area of support;
Possess the technical knowledge and ability to analyze, research and troubleshoot software applications;
Demonstrate initiative, creativity and flexibility in problem resolution;
Exercise good judgment;
Effectively management work time while handling more than one assignment at a time;
Prioritize work assignments to ensure the appropriate work is being completed;
Demonstrate integrity, credibility and personal accountability;
Set high work standards;
Seek to share technical and other specialized knowledge with peers;
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; and
