Job Description

Under the supervision of the Labor Relations Director, the Labor Relations Associate provides ongoing support for various administrative and operational needs of the facility's Labor Relations Department in furtherance of the Department's objectives. The Labor Relations Associate is responsible for a high-volume of work.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the facility Director of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Associate will be responsible for:
• Participating or assisting labor relations staff in the creation and updating of case files, logs, and other records; and in the filing, organizing, and archiving of same
• Participating or assisting labor relations staff with the scheduling, organizing, and conducting of trainings, orientations, labor-management meetings, and other meetings on labor relations matters
• Participating or assisting labor relations staff in the service, filing, or retrieval of various motions, charges, case decisions, and other documents or information on labor relations matters
• Participating or assisting labor relations staff in the updating and inputting of information into computer databases, in the retrieval of data and information, and in the creation of reports
• May be required to serve as administrative support to Central Office Labor Relations depending on needs as determined by the AVP of Labor Relations.
• Working to identify opportunities to streamline certain processes that will help the Office of Labor Relation run more efficiently and effectively and shares those identified opportunities as appropriate
• Assisting with related administrative tasks as needed
• Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; or
2. Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline and two (2) years of relevant experience in human resources or personnel administration, labor relations, employee relations, learning and development, talent acquisition, customer service (providing information and resolving customer concerns), or a related administrative support function; or
3. High School Diploma or its educational equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience, as described in "2" above.

Department Preferences
• NYC Residency
• A Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university; and,
• One-year experience in one or more of the following: classification and salary administration, employment and testing, training and counseling, employee relations, labor relations and personnel administration, research; or,
• Graduation from a senior high school and five years of satisfactory experience in personnel administration, of which at least four years must have been at a responsible level of personnel administration, labor relations, employee relations; or,
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
