Laboratory Assistant Lab-Anatomic Pathology Support - Evenings

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics is home to the largest laboratory in NH, providing Pathology and Clinical Laboratory services to DHMC physician practices, Dartmouth Health hospital affiliates as well as to independent practices and hospitals throughout NH and VT. The department is a leader in process improvement (LEAN/Six Sigma) which has led to a renovated space designed for efficiency of workflow. The Laboratory Assistant organizes, retrieves, and re-files pathology slide and block inventory, maintaining specimen storage and documentation of inventory within the Epic Beaker system. They receive and return external pathology material to outside institutions.

This is a full time 40-hour/week position. We are open to candidates who are interested in an evening or day shift for this position.

Responsibilities

Performs functions related to organization and filing of pathology slides and blocks.

Retrieves inventory from archive upon request including from offsite storage.

Logs receipt and delivery of inventory within digital system.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Coursework toward a college degree preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment required.
