Laboratory Research Technician I

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Technician I for Dr. Takashi Kozai's laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering. This technician will be responsible for maintaining the operational functions of a Neuroscience and Neurobiology lab.

The position of Laboratory Technician I in the Kozai lab in the Department of Bioengineering will have the responsibility of directing the daily activities of the laboratory, and updating IACUC protocols, maintaining animals and inventory, interacting with vendors and facility management, and managing equipment. Aside from the administrative duties, incumbent will also assist with coordinating interdisciplinary research projects, assist with leading a research team to perform specialized experimental procedures such as neural implant surgery, perform animal perfusion, histological tissue processing, staining and imaging. Ideal candidate should have some hands-on experience with stereotaxic animal surgery and histology, and have ability to apply routine methods for data analysis and trouble shooting.
