POSITIONSUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists Laboratory Manager as needed to ensure the provision of timely and accurate laboratory test results through processes that are in compliance with requirements established by accreditation standards and by federal/state reimbursement agencies. Assists as needed in staff-related and administrative tasks. Oversees various technical activities and aspects of the Clinical Laboratories. Has knowledge of advanced scientific principles within the specialty area and is able to apply that knowledge. Collaborates with others to organize work, perform assigned tasks and set priorities.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or an appropriate biological/chemical/medical science from an accredited college or university is required. Two years clinical laboratory experience required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required.
