Job Summary

The Department of Urology is looking for a Laboratory Technical Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint), basic lab techniques for cell and molecular biology, and organizational skills.

Experience and Education

• High school graduation or GED equivalent, and no experience required.

Job Duties

• Prepares laboratory specimens.

• Assembles and operates standard laboratory equipment.

• Collects and records data which may involve arithmetic computations.

• Prepares standard reagents and culture media.

• Examines experimentally infected laboratory animals to detect and record symptoms associated with a variety of animal diseases.

• Weighs, positions, and performs pre-operative shaving of animals.

• Takes vital signs of animals.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
