As a Laboratory Technical Assistant, you play a vital role in the hospital's Clinical Research team. Your primary responsibilities include receiving, processing, routing, and storing specimens from all areas of the hospital. Additionally, you provide crucial support and assistance in various laboratory tasks within the specimen processing area. By efficiently managing specimens and collaborating with the team, you contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives and ensure smooth operations within the laboratory. Hours for this role (subject to change): 12:00pm - 08:30pm, including rotating weekends

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Receive and accession clinical research specimens.
• Perform variety of laboratory procedures, including blood cell isolations, sample aliquoting, centrifugation, pipetting, and proper storage.
• Troubleshoot specimen discrepancies, communicate with providers to clarify unclear test orders
• Perform inventory, inventory control tasks, clerical duties which include maintaining, scanning and filing documents

Your qualifications should include:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Up to one-year experience in a hospital laboratory setting preferred, working with clinical laboratory specimens and staff
