Qualifications:
  • Must have experience in two or more of the following areas of vehicle repair: Brakes, Suspension, Electrical, Exhaust Systems, or General Maintenance
  • Some experience repairing passenger vehicles, such as school buses, is highly desirable
  • Must obtain CDL and State Education Department certification before entering on duty
  • Must have current driver's license and Montgomery Public Schools insurable driving record
  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable

Essential Duties:
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work on various vehicles (primarily school buses)
  • Repair and install all types of tires and rims
  • Drive school buses
  • Comply with safety requirements
  • Keep records of time, materials, parts and work performed in accordance with department policy
  • Participate in on-the-job and other formal and informal training and orientation programs
  • Adequate strength, dexterity, and agility to perform all required tasks
