Lansing MI- Health & Housing Resource Coordinator

This is a Half time position meaning the member will serve ~20 hours/week for the full term. Member will receive a living stipend of $10,000 distributed bi-weekly and an education award in the amount of $3,697.50 upon successful completion of service. Since 1999, Allen Neighborhood Center has used door-to-door canvassing and community discussion to synthesize the voices of our neighbors with our community building resources, bringing a neighborhood-crafted vision for the Eastside to life. Your willingness to team up with us to promote neighborhood revitalization, increase food access and security, ignite entrepreneurial enterprises, and implement health-related initiatives that enrich people's lives is very much appreciated. Member Duties : • Assist neighbor's navigation of the legal system for the Gender Affirmation project • Improve neighborhood access to health resources through enrollment assistance and community resource referrals in the outreach office (Medicaid, Ingham Health Plan, etc.) • Conduct program and health information outreach during community events • Develop relationships with community resource partners to better serve neighborhood • Develop and facilitate Market Walk program, a physical activity program every Tuesday and Thursday evening between May and September • Promote participation the Market Walk program • Survey members of the Eastside neighborhood to collect information and first-hand experiences of ANC programs and services • Develop a Community Assessment to identify needs Housing Education Partnership • Serve at least 50 community members through training, education, and resource provision and housing education
