Duties

  • Perform a variety of laundry plant operations but primarily leads inmates performing laundry duties.
  • Arrange laundry orders for shipment, take inventory counts, and operate commercial-type laundry washers, tumblers and conditions.
  • Provide safety training to inmates.
  • Develop plan for acquiring supplies and equipment and regulates stock levels of needed solvents and materials.
  • Drive vehicles up to five-ton capacity to make short hauls throughout the installation.
  • Properly load cargo within truck capacity and ensure load is properly distributed and secured.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation and criminal
    history background check.
  • Facility personnel are required to complete the Army Corrections Command Pre-Service Training upon employment and complete 40 hours of
    training annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the employee to undergo screening for tuberculosis upon appointment and an annual re-evaluation.
  • The maximum entry age for positions covered under the special Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) retirement is 37 years old.
  • Individuals must be appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37. Individuals who are past the maximum
    entry age limit, but previously served in a primary position, may be reinstated.
  • Position is designated as a Primary LEO and the work requires frequent, direct contact in the detention of inmates. Regularly-assigned contact
    with inmates expose the incumbent to daily stress and threat of potentially dangerous situations.
  • IAW The Prison Rape Elimination Act, the MCC may not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, has engaged in sexual
    abuse in a prison, jail, lockup community conferment facility, juvenile facility, or other institution.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • The incumbent of this position will comply with all provisions of the 15th MP BDE Regulation 190-3, Rules of Conduct and ACC Policy Letter #17,
    Standards of Conduct.
  • This position requires the employee to complete the Army Corrections Command Pre-Service Training program to maintain security and control
    of inmates, appropriate staff/inmate interaction and understanding the rules of inmate conduct.
  • Personnel who enter the Military Corrections Complex (within or outside the fence line) consent to inspection of their person and property,
    including their vehicle.
  • Department of Defense Instruction, Number 1325.7 states all confinement facility personnel shall possess a high degree of maturity and
    emotional stability.
  • Department of Defense Instruction, Number 1325.7 states all confinement facility personnel shall have no civilian felony convictions or court martial convictions for any offense with a maximum authorized sentence to confinement of over one year.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Effort is also required to lift objects weighing up to 9.07 Kilograms (20 pounds) with occasional handling of objects over 22.68 Kilograms (50 pounds).

  • May be required to wear protective masks, gloves, or other gear. Works inside and outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle.

  • Employee must stand and walk on concrete floors. Work requires some quickness in hand and arm movements to keep pace with machines and meet production standards. Physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning, moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate vehicle controls and laundry equipment. Effort is also required to lift objects weighing up to 9.07 Kilograms (20 pounds) with occasional handling of objects over 22.68 Kilograms (50 pounds).
  • Works in the secured areas of the laundry areas and is subject to noisy, hot, and humid conditions. Employee is at risk for cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of driving accidents, when loading and unloading vehicle, when operating laundry equipment, from carts or machinery and performing related duties in the laundry plant areas. May be required to wear protective masks, gloves, or other gear. Works inside and outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle.
