Job Summary:
This position will serve as a tenure-track or tenured faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Law School. We are recruiting a faculty member as part of the university's hiring initiative on artificial intelligence. The person will conduct research and teach classes in areas related to law and artificial intelligence. As a faculty member, the person holding this position will also engage in service to the Law School as well as to the university and the profession. Interest in and potential for interdisciplinary collaboration across the university is key to this position.

This position will be part of UW-Madison's RISE-AI initiative, which a multifaceted effort focused on faculty hiring, research infrastructure, interdisciplinary collaboration and student opportunity. More information about RISE-AI can be found here: https://rise.wisc.edu/rise-ai/
Responsibilities:
Conduct research in law/policy relating to artificial intelligence and teach courses in that area. Engage in service of the type expected of faculty members. Collaborate across campus on endeavors relating to artificial intelligence.

Qualifications:
We seek entry-level and lateral candidates who show scholarly promise, as evidenced by publications, works in progress or a research agenda. Applicants should have relevant experience such as teaching, legal practice or a judicial clerkship. Hiring rank will be commensurate with years of relevant experience. To be hired at the associate or full professor level, candidates must have previous tenure-track teaching experience. Once hired, faculty members are evaluated and advancement is determined by contributions in research, teaching and service to the Law School, the university and the profession. Candidates must meet criteria for a tenure-track faculty appointment at UW-Madison.
