Lead AI/ML Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to join a new team within a Large Financial Institution. This resource will be spending half of their time producing models, as this is a newer team and the projects, requirements are all still being defined. As well as spending the other half of their time guiding engineers, reviewing code, and helping to push projects forward.

This team set out with 4 engineers, and their goal is to develop AI/ML inititiaves for their line of business and later expand across the Division. They will be acting as a Center of Excellence and supporting the peer teams applications and databases in AI/ML support and looking to add generative AI solutions to increase audit efficiency and bandwidth of automation. Their long term goal is to get every application to have some AI component, developed and have it maintained on its own.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelors or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field

* 8 Years of experience with AI/ML building and deploying AI/ML models including Generative AI, LangChain and NLP

* Previous experience leading or mentoring other Jr engineers

* In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithm's, software architecture, libraries and frameworks to create AI that accomplishes outlined goals

* Rigorous knowledge of Python programming to develop software. Java is a plus.

* Experience in integrating AI/ML into existing applications in batch and realtime

* Hands-on experience on writing and understanding complex SQL(Hive/PySpark-data frames) and optimizing data pipelines.

* Experience with GitHub and leveraging CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience in taking models through AI/ML governance in highly regulated industry is a plus

* Experience in Big Data ecosystem including Map-Reduce, Hive, Spark (core, SQL and pyspark) and UNIX shell scripting

* Experience with NoSQL is a plus
