PRIMARY FUNCTION :

The position will provide behavioral health evaluations, acute therapy and support services for students in Jefferson's Student Counseling Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides comprehensive assessment, interventions, individual therapy, group therapy and other psychosocial treatment modalities.
  • Provides effective treatment planning and assists patients in successfully achieving goals.
  • Participates in outreach, wellness, and psychoeducational programming to the campus community.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.


OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES :


  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality with in the Department
  • Maintains working knowledge of best practices in the field of college mental health
  • Works collaboratively with Student Counseling Center staff and campus partners, d ocuments accurately within the medical record of patients as well as other forms to meet city, state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Completes all records within the electronic health record system (Point and Click)
  • Prioritizes and maintains assigned cases to ensure appropriate services are provided to patients
  • Attends University meetings assigned by Student Cousneling Center Director
  • Provides weekend and evening on-call coverage at the discretion of the Counseling Center Director
  • Provides administrative back up to the Student Counseling Center Director
  • Attends assigned meetings at all levels within the organization
  • Coordinates supervision and/or teaching of Master's level trainees
  • Facilitates outreach events
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Faculty, administrators, staff, students, local hospital, mental health professionals, and other service providers.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Master in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family or Social Work (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) or higher.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Psy.D. licensed in the state of Pennsylvania



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting is required. Prefer three or more years of outpatient clinical behavioral health experience. Experience in college counseling preferred.

Provides care that is appropriate to the specific chronological age, developmental age, social maturity and cultural background of the patients being treated.

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
