As a Family Operations team member, you are a crucial part of the organization and a strong representation of the company's values and mission. The Billing Team Lead position is an important role within the Billing Team and is responsible for supporting all our Billing Specialists, internal and external business partners with questions and issues. The Lead Billing Specialist also ensures we are meeting our department goals while creating an outstanding experience for teammates. The Lead Billing Specialists works alongside Billing Team Supervisors and Billing Specialists to promote a positive team environment. Our Team Lead role is a phenomenal first step into leadership allowing one to learn, develop and grow.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish relationships with internal and external partners, including peers, department leadership, Field Operations, and others as needed.
  • Knowledge of multiple markets and the learning agility to quickly adapt to new markets as needed.
  • Complete quality checks, provide feedback, and training support of Billing Specialists.
  • Resolve and/or advance issues as appropriate to leadership.
  • Understand historical processing trends and plan for the high and low volumes.
  • Coordinate and assist in market-related and general Champions Billing projects, as required.
  • Align to company tuition strategy both in subsidy and private pay, goals, and objectives.
  • Assist/Execute trainings with peers, and field partners, on system, subsidy, and private pay processes, while aligning to company tuition strategy in subsidy, goals, and objectives.
  • Builds and implements tracking documents as needed for the Billing Team.
  • Support the team in the absence of Billing Supervisor.
  • Actively participate in one-on-one, team, and department calls/activities.
  • Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bookkeeping, billing, accounts receivable, and prior ladership experience preferred.
  • Strong digital literacy covering financial systems and general office software, including MS Office; strong excel and email skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Self motivated with the ability to work in a fast pace, work from home environment.
