Purpose:
Serves as a member of the spiritual care team. Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff in the health care environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing the spiritual care department work schedule, assisting with payroll, leading or participating in training, assisting with policy/procedure implementation and review, assist with performance management of the team. Share on-call responsibilities. Documents visits to patients. Remain familiar with department standards and policies. Participate in department, business unit system committee, or projects. Participate in or lead team meetings as required. Lead worship as scheduled. Seek opportunities for continuing education. Offer expertise in leading groups and continuing education. Communicate well in a professional exchange of ideas with staff.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, Divinity, or related counseling field required.
  • 3 years of prior chaplain experience required.
  • 1 year in a hospital/healthcare-related field experience required.
  • 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required.
  • Endorsement from religious denomination.
  • Understanding of health care ministry.
  • Knowledge of religious values and traditions.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
  • Board certification preferred.
