The role you'll contribute:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nutrition Services, this position participates in the coordination and planning of all catered meals and events, functions as an active member of the Department's Management Team and evaluates food quality and preparedness. To this end, this position:

• Coordinates and assures timely completion of table set-ups and clothing for catered events,

• Oversees preparation of all food items for catered events,

• Assumes supervisory role of Nutrition Services Staff members in the absence of Nutrition Services Supervisor(s),

• Ensures compliance of department standards as aligned with state, federal, and regulatory safety and sanitation standards, and

• Possesses adequate knowledge of dietary restrictions commonly ordered for patients.

• Ensures the production of high quality and creative foods for catered events.

• Ensures timely delivery and set-up of all catered events.

• Ensures timely retrieval of Nutrition Services resources following catered events.

• Ensures compliance to department polices and guidelines to affect compliance to state, federal, and regulatory standards, including, but not limited to:

o HACCP Program,

o Sanitation and Safety Inspections, and

o Temperature Logs.

• When assigned, provides overall direction for front line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement, and compliance with SHARE principles.

• Monitors department productivity and makes appropriate changes in staffing to ensure compliance to established standards.

• Maintains current knowledge of department POS system and participates in department activities related to cash reconciliation. Assists in departmental activities related to cash reconciliation.

• Assists with food inventorying, ordering, and stocking.

• Interacts with departmental employees, organizational staff, physicians, patients, and families as appropriate.

Practices customer service skills consistently and with genuine conviction

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

• Two (2) years of experience in catering and/or hospital industry.

• One (1) year of experience in food procurement, menu planning, inventory control, and record keeping.
