UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is hiring a full-time Lead Diagnostic Technologist to support Orthopaedic Specialists located at 9104 Babcock Blvd Medical T building 5th floor Pittsburgh PA 15237. This position will work 730AM-4PM or 8AM-4:30PM depending on clinic schedule. This position may require travel to South Side and Monroeville for coverage purposes.

This position will support 9 orthopedic physicians in the practice, manage 9 medical assistants, and assist with PO's for the office and ordering supplies.

Purpose:
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • Performs all responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I and Advanced Diagnostic Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary
  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor


Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 3 years Diagnostic Imaging experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS Required.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
