Summary
- Position Summary
- The Lead Education Technician III role provides academic instruction and behavioral support in special purpose schools. This role will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to design and provide services that support the achievement of academic, behavioral and daily living goals of students in accordance with the Individual Treatment Plan, IEP and/or behavioral support plan. The Lead role provides mentoring, training and support to other team members.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
- License/Certifications: Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education required (minimum of 90 credits in approved study).
- Experience: Two years of relevant experience working with children or youth with developmental disorders, mental health disorders and/or challenging behaviors in a school, hospital or residential setting preferred.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: DOE fingerprinting. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to students/patients (ages 5-20) with consideration of variable cognitive abilities, developmental levels and culture patterns. Minimal proficiency in swimming in shallow and deep water to secure safety of students in event of an emergency.
