The District is accepting applications for Lead Groundskeeper. BASIC FUNCTION:Under the direction of the Supervisor-Operations, oversee and participate in grounds maintenance and gardening activities in the beautification of organization-wide grounds and landscaped areas; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned personnel.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years' increasingly responsible grounds maintenance experience including work in the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Valid California commercial driver's license Pesticide applicator's license must be obtained during the probationary period.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Individuals interested in employment are asked to describe any training, education, experience, or skills relevant to this position. The process will begin with the competitive screening of qualified applicants. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a written, oral, and/or practical examination. Successful candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list according to the examination score. Final selection will then be made in accordance with Merit System rules from the established eligibility list. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees.
