Position: Lead Housekeeper / Floater

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for providing dispatch, answering telephone calls and will be the personal point of contact for dismissal cleaning personnel and others desiring to communicate with the office/storeroom area. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with the service excellence standards while interacting with patients, patient's families, (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and coworkers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for providing dispatch, answering telephone calls and will be the personal point of contact for dismissal cleaning personnel and others desiring to communicate with the office/storeroom area. Responsible for enforcing employee check-in/out supply and equipment policies and procedures, to maintain an orderly and clean office/storeroom area, and to act as the departmental secretary. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with the service excellence standards while interacting with patients, patient's families, (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and coworkers.

Qualifications

Requirements:

1. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION: Ability to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing. Additionally, to be able to follow written and oral instructions and to record assignments completed in Basic English. High school education or equivalent required.
2. EXPERIENCE: Experience in administrative support and/or healthcare preferred.
3. SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to operate/use equipment provided by the department to facilitate the procedures performed. Ability to read and write in English. Ability to speak and hear, to allow discussions with customers, employees, and peers. Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress. Ability to respond to telephone calls.
4. LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: None

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

1. Ability to read and write English.
2. Ability to communicate with staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
3. Ability to remain calm under stress.
4. Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation.
5. Bending, lifting (10-30 lbs), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling, prolonged standing or sitting.
6. Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard/metric measurement).
7. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
