Our System Administrator/Sr Prinicpal Network Engineer will work with a team of highly skilled technical professionals and provide direct support to the Government in the design, implementation, deployment, management and monitoring of the security requirements governing technology-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

The System Administrator/Sr Prinicpal Network Engineer is responsible for leading a team of system and cloud administrators, IT security engineers, and software engineers delivering network, workstation, and application support across an organization.

The Lead System Administrator/Sr. Principal Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of IT infrastructure for all Integration of a large independant testing and engineering office.

Work is highly independent and may assume a team lead role for the work group.

Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project by developing complex concepts and processes, conduct root cause problem analysis and develop technical solutions to problems.

Guides and supports junior level personnel. Requires guidance only when dealing with new, uncertain, undefined or undeveloped tasks.

Performing routine to moderately complex network upgrades.

Manage the teams and subcontractors providing tool development and automation services.

Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provides advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements.

Plan upgrades to existing network configurations, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being upgraded and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.

Utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems in the network.

Follow troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.

Assist senior technical staff in preparing troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.

With limited guidance, performs moderately complex network designs using existing technology.

Plan network configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.

Assist senior technical staff in preparing troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.

With limited guidance, performs moderately complex network designs using existing technology.

Plan network configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance.

Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the Program Manager for engineering review.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Management or a related field with 10-12 years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Network Engineer for the development/integration programs/projects related to test and evaluation or transition/modernization.

Master's degree in Systems Management or a related field with 8-10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Network Engineer for the development/integration programs/projects related to test and evaluation or transition/modernization.

PhD degree in Systems Management or a related field with 5-7 years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Network Engineer for the development/integration programs/projects related to test and evaluation or transition/modernization.

Experience administering Windows, UNIX, and Cloud based systems.

Experience implementing and managing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) instances to host tools and/or services across multiple domains.

Experience leading an agile, fast-paced engineering and development team.

Experience transitioning bare metal capabilities to a cloud infrastructure.

Experience coordinating across offices, organizations, and contracts to accomplish system, network, and infrastructure access/changes.

Experience with DevSecOps platforms, pipelines, processes, and support tools (e.g. Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Redmine, etc.)

Experience in the application of security policy, procedures, and technology to include ICD 503 requirements, Cross Domain Devices, PKI, Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC), Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and system hardening/certification testing.

Experience identifying root causes, impediments, and solutions.

Experience identifying and addressing system/application security vulnerabilities, leading to receipt of Authority to Operate (ATO).

Experience performing analysis of a similar system and using the results to recognize interface impacts.
Comprehensive understanding of systems development lifecycle and enterprise systems architecture

Desired:
Experience or working knowledge supporting the planning and scheduling events associated with a T&E environment.

Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or an equivalent Cloud-based architecture.

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Poly

Minimum Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Systems Management or a related field.

Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years
