Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.

Job Summary:

As part of the IT Client Onboarding development team, this Lead Engineer will develop enterprise scale services on core technologies and analyzes business requirements and problems to deliver quality technical solution

The Lead Engineer will be involved in portions of/or the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and may be responsible for providing direction to a team, designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting technologies that are delivered on time and within budget. Demonstrates subject matter expertise and is able to integrate domain knowledge with an understanding of financial services standards and practices. Is the primary on the most complex and escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance team members. Applies specialized business knowledge and technical skills to significant deliverables and projects that involve multiple IT departments, business units and have enterprise impact. Makes judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes complex system requirements, including identifying program interactions and appropriate interfaces between affected components and sub system.
  • Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Leads assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance across cross functional teams and multiple sites.
  • May recommend new technologies and methodologies to management for meeting business needs, resolving problems and exploiting opportunities. Remains current with new technologies.
  • Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration.
  • Participates in system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.
  • Provides technical advice/expertise and assists in solving programming problems.
  • Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
  • Reviews test results; documents test activities, and records remedial actions.
  • Ensures proper analysis of problems and approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Take rotations for production support.


Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of / Skills in:

  • Strong understanding of the SDLC lifecycle for Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience as Senior or Lead Java Developer in the Financial Services industry is preferred, not required.
  • Background in Object Oriented Programming, service-oriented architectures, REST/SOAP standards are required.
  • Experience in Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate/JPA are required.
  • Knowledge of relational (Oracle or SQL Server) databases.
  • Background in JavaScript frameworks such as Angular is nice to have.
  • Experience in Web 2.0, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript is nice to have.
  • Experience working in continuous integration environment leveraging open-source tools such as Jenkins, Git.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.


Education/Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or a combination of education, training and experience approved by HR.
  • At least to five (5) years of experience in Design, Development and Support of Data-Driven, all aspects of SDLC in a highly scalable multi-tier applications in distributed environments is preferred.
  • Financial services and/or enterprise level experience is highly preferred.
