Join our team at City of Hope as a Lead, Mammography/Breast Ultrasound, where your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional patient-centered care. In this role, you will provide a range of breast imaging services and procedures, assist physicians in breast radiologic examinations and biopsies, and ensure the proper preparation of procedure rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications. You will also be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting the use of invasive biopsy equipment, maintaining effective physician relationships, and ensuring accurate patient tracking, billing, and film tracking documentation. Your role involves creating a reassuring atmosphere for patients, assisting with scheduling, and supporting daily activities in the Women's Center while helping to maintain compliance with MQSA requirements. In our department, our equipment includes: Hologic Dimensions 3D. In the very near future, this role and department will be moving to our new Duarte Outpatient Center located on our main campus, which is currently under construction!

Expanding Hope - Los Angeles Campus

A cornerstone of City of Hope's plans to increase capacity to deliver care, the new Duarte Outpatient Center is scheduled to open in 2024. At eight stories and over 350,000 square feet, the facility will become the largest ambulatory care building on campus. The center will house state-of-the-art equipment, specialty clinics, new radiation oncology vaults, defined units to facilitate patient navigation, laboratory services and dedicated clinical trial infusion and monitoring. Enclosed walkways and bridges between buildings will offer safer and more comfortable space for travel, especially for those who are immunocompromised.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures of the breast, including mammography, breast ultrasonography, operates image guide for ultrasonographic biopsy, stereotactic biopsy and needle localization.
  • Assess patient's understanding of process. Prepare the patient, explain the procedure, assist patient for appropriate positioning during the examination.
  • Set up and assembles biopsy equipment to assist the radiologist during invasive procedures, maintains sterile technique.
  • Be involved in clinical teaching of Ultrasound technique, assesses technical Ultrasound abilities of new technologists




Your qualifications should include:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years General Radiology along with 3 - 5 years Mammography and Breast Ultrasound 1 - 2 years.
  • Current ARRT (R) (M) certifications
  • Current CRT (M) license
  • BLS
  • RDMS Breast and/or Abdomen certification (preferred)
