The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants within their office by mentoring, training and and providing feedback regarding quality and practice transformation workflows. In addition to serving as a liasion between the practice transformation and quality team to practices, they will call patients to address and close patient care gaps and refer patients to care coordination as needed. Navigators may also perform standard MA functions such as assisting patients and performing various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals. Other duties as assigned.
  • Contact patients to address and close preventative care gaps by scheduling appointments, medical screenings and distribution of in-home testing kits.
  • Serves as resource to Practice other Medical Assistants by training, mentoring and assisting in the direction of daily operations related to care gaps and clinical quality workflows.
  • Works with Population Health teams and providers to improve performane on value based payer contracts


Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
