The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants within their office by mentoring, training and leading day to day operations. In addition to their Lead duties, they may also perform standard MA functions such as assisting patients and performing various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals.

2 Serves as resource to other Medical Assistants by training, mentoring and assisting in the direction of daily operations. May assist

and have input in performance evaluation process of standard MA's.

3 Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.

4 Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.

5 Remains proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems

within established scope of practice.

6 Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections in the

office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients.

7 Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

8 Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operations of the office.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification required. Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience.

For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program which includes, at a minimum, 330 hours of instruction and encompasses training in the administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.

For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024.

Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.

BLS Certification through American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS through the America Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.

Conditions of Employment

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
