Key job responsibilities

- Lead and guide technicians by planning, prioritizing, assigning and executing daily builds and tasks

- Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. You develop training plans for your team and are responsible for implementing training programs within your department.

- Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub-assemblies, and integration assemblies, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products, and operating testing equipment and tooling, all in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment.

- Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures

- Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions.

- Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.

- Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation.

The Lead MFG Assembly Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. We are a group of Technicians with well over 20 years of diverse skills and experience. Each team member brings in willingness to train and positive team energy. With some tasks, you may be an individual contributor, but may also work in a group environment to achieve organizational goals. This group of Technicians thrive in success by working as a team. We are currently in a research and development phase but moving towards a production environment.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 4+ years relevant aerospace manufacturing experience

- 4+ years of hands-on work experience Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration and/ or Harness Integration experience

- 4+ years experience in a fast-paced production environment with Flight Hardware

- 4+ years of hand on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches)

Additional Requirements:

- Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times 1st shift: 7AM-3:30PM

- Shift will vary, depending on program needs

- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position

- Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of experience leading technicians in a manufacturing environment

- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment

- Experience in an ambiguous, fast-paced production environment

- Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements

- A demonstrated ability in reading/writing/creating/understanding technical drawings, work instructions, test plans and standard operating procedures

- Detailed knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and satellite components

- Ability to use a wide variety of precision measuring and testing instruments

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
