Lead MRI Tech

• PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
• • Performs quality diagnostic imaging exams using proper equipment and technical factors along with magnetic safety practices. Positions patients and equipment, along with adjusting imaging equipment including MRI coils, injectors, and table parts. Responsible for checking next day schedules to avoid any scheduling complications.
• • Responsible for adhering to all current protocols the current radiology group implements and staying up to date with any changes to protocols, policies, and guidelines. Competent in both routine exams along with angiography studies and procedures.
• • Uses computer to start and complete exams. Correctly sends images to PACS via standard workflow process. Enters all technical information relating to exam. Takes appropriate history that is documented on scanned requisition. Monitors online worklist. Competent in post-processing.
• • Transports, lifts, moves, and positions patients as needed to properly and safely complete exam. Will transport patients to and from within the department along with escorting patients to other departments for testing.
• • Performs basic patient care including monitoring of patient condition. Patient history is to be taken methodically to ensure safety for the patient before being scanned and/ or injected with contrast. Responsible for checking the next day schedules to avoid any complications.
• • Acts as a lead technologist for MR at the Imaging center and Hospital. Coordinates workflow, patients and staff schedules and protocols for best practice in modalities. Lead will perform accreditation for all needed equipment and maintain quality control. Will keep manager informed of daily operations. Will work on improving patient satisfaction. Also performs direct patient care duties within technologist scope of practice including assisting radiologist in MRI-Guided biopsies. Utilizes infection control.
• • Competent in starting I.V.'s for injections. Technologist will be responsible for preparing and administering contrast material with either the power injector or by hand as directed by the radiologist and radiology protocols.
• • Technologist will be responsible for following all Hospital and department specific policies. Will follow Florida Hospital customer service pledge and departments rules of engagement. Technologist will be responsible for understanding The Joint Commission regulations as it pertains to their area. Will maintain a clean, stocked, and compliant work area.
Qualifications
• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• • Minimum of five years' experience as an MRI Technologist.
• • Basic computer skills are needed along with PACS and RIS experience
• • Must be a graduate of an approved ARRT program with current ARRT registration.
• LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• • Must have Florida State license in Radiography.
• • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Must have MR registry.
