Lead MRI Technologist works under the direction of a radiologist utilizing high and low field magnetic field in the form of resonance scanning equipment/scanners and other high-tech imaging equipment and develops protocols that optimize image quality. Trains and orients new MR technology staff as well as participates in hospital MRI safety programs. Maintains MRI policy and procedure manual and responsible for MR QC and accreditation process including ACR. Assist director in performing MRI staff annual performance evaluations. Responsible for overseeing equipment service needs while maintaining service logs. Responsible for patient and staff scheduling meeting the demands of the department. Population served based on scope of services in the department.

Graduate from an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology with additional training in MRI scanning. A.R.R.T. (R)
NYS DOH

2 years MRI experience required (MR) preferred
NYS DOH IV certification preferred
