Summary:

  • At the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, the Lead Operations Technician works with and operates as the lead to the Materials Service Partners and Anesthesia Technicians. The Lead Operations Technician's responsibilities are to monitor workflow and delegate and ensure implementations of all duties assigned by the manager / supervisor to Materials Service Partners and Anesthesia Technicians are completed. Manages and oversees training and scheduling. Leads and provides assigned direction to support relating to perioperative inventory, replenishment of supplies in all areas, case cart picking and Anesthesia Technician responsibilities for perioperative services. The Lead Operations Technician collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing Staff, Anesthesia, Materials Service Partners I, Materials Service Partner II, Instrument Processing and Materials Management teams throughout the shifts in regard to any supply issues, shortages of materials, instrumentation and equipment needs during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Operations Manager
  • Assists in preparation of patient for invasive monitoring / procedures by the Anesthesia clinical provider, including but not limited to intraoperative monitoring of patients during a surgical case.
  • Responsible for picking supply, stocking inventory, gathering equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
  • Displays adequate communication skills with PeriOp staff, management and others.
  • Demonstrates courtesy and respect for patients, visitors and employees to fulfill service missions.
  • Modifies behavior or work schedule when necessary to achieve department goals.
  • Provides assigned direction and support relating to perioperative inventory, replenishment of supplies, Materials Service Partner and Anesthesia Technician duties.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Credentials:


    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
    • Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience: •And 3+ years 3-5 years experience in stocking and inventory
