The Role

The Lead Operations Technician is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the Local access network infrastructure. As a Lead additional responsibility will include internal escalation support for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance activities and training of other Operations Technicians on the team. This role is a Hybrid position. Team members are required to come in at least one day every other week, however that is at the discretion of the manager and the business unit. You may be asked/required to come into the office for training, meetings, and other significant functions. The team is 12/7 and requires shift work, any significant schedule changes would be coordinated at least 2 weeks prior.

The Main Responsibilities

• Technician for customer/company network systems installation and/or maintenance activities.
• Implement and enforce the organization's standardized configuration policies and practices.
• Regularly create NOC-specific performance reports, KPI statistics, and present them to NOC Leadership.
• Mentor/train less experienced NOC technicians.
• Resolves complex network problems involving power, network hardware and software, lines and modems and terminals.
• Uses software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose network status and problems; conducts complex network monitoring equipment installation and maintenance activities; resolves complex trouble tickets.
• Monitors network operations and resolves routine network monitoring problems.
• Monitors network performance; conducts routine monitoring equipment installation and maintenance activities; resolves routine trouble tickets.
• Knowledge of/Ability to Troubleshoot: IP subnetting, IP routing, IPSEC tunnels, IPVPN, and VRRP/HSRP

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Knowledge with Nokia / Calix / Adtran / Tellabs equipment and switching and routing network principles.
• Familiar with IP, Transport and Voice network devices, concepts and functionality.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$68,757 - $91,675 in these states: LA
$72,300 - $96,500 in these states: FL

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
