This position will be based on site in Greenville, SC.

Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Lead Process Engineer with experience in the aluminum industry. This is an exciting opportunity to bring innovative solutions to our aluminum processing, refining, and smelting projects. A solid background in the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of process systems within aluminum facilities is essential for this role.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and execute process engineering design for large-scale capital projects within the aluminum industry.
  • Develop design basis documents, including process design criteria, mass and energy balances, and system reports.
  • Supervise process test work programs aimed at developing or optimizing aluminum smelting and refining flowsheets.
  • Conduct plant audits, debottlenecking studies, and process optimizations.
  • Perform detailed process calculations and simulations, specifying aluminum-related process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Create, review, and revise process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, and data sheets.
  • Lead technical bid evaluations and ensure process equipment meets project specifications.
  • Support plot plan and piping layout development.
  • Prepare and contribute to operating and capital cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline engineers and project management to ensure project alignment.
  • Review and apply relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, with a strong understanding of aluminum processing best practices.
  • Participate in HAZOP/HAZID studies and other risk assessments.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promoting knowledge-sharing and development within the team.
  • Optimize process systems to enhance productivity, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.


Qualifications:
  • 20+ years of experience, with experience in the aluminum industry, with a deep understanding of aluminum refining, smelting, and processing technologies.
  • Strong background in process engineering, including front-end design, commissioning, and operational optimization.
  • Experience with large-scale capital projects in the aluminum industry, including concept/select, PFS, FS, and detailed engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex process engineering projects from initial studies through execution.
  • Strong expertise in aluminum processing equipment and systems, including technical bid evaluations and vendor coordination.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and codes related to aluminum processing and refining.
  • Strong client engagement skills and experience developing technical proposals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and presentations.
