Summary:

The Application Engineering Team, under the senior leadership of Product Management, plays a critical role in servicing the high volume of residential and commercial customers and the rapid growth of industrial, OEM, and utility end users in North America and internationally. The Portfolio of Services was established with the mission statement of Re3TM, to Respond, Rectify, and Restore the electrical systems using Reinforced, Resilient, Reliable Solutions. This large engineering team provides the industry's best-in-class consultation and technical support. We are looking for subject matter experts with hands-on experience in emerging vertical markets to drive the spec, deliver value-added field solutions, and initiate service innovations of wire & cable with connectorized accessories.

The responsibilities include aligning engineering activities with company objectives, driving the spec in the data center, renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS), electric vehicle charging & infrastructure, telecommunication/5G, petrochemical & mining, mass transit, and ports & terminal applications.

This subject matter expert will interface directly with customers, host in-depth product training, and lead troubleshooting efforts while partnering with agents, distributors, inside & outside sales, operation, and product management to deliver value-adding solutions to electricians, general & electrical contractors, engineers, renewable project owners, and EPCs. The individual must have commercial experience and be proficient in ideating, designing, and implementing commercial-scale service solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Drive the spec to offer the best technical and value-added product and system solutions for emerging industrial vertical markets, including data centers, renewable energy, telecom/5 G, EV infrastructure, mass transit, mining, or applications in harsh environments.

2. Identify customers' technical pain points during the life cycle and translate them into new engineering requirements for products, tools, software, and field solutions. Summarize product features, functionalities, code compliance, and long-term performance and submit ideas into the Stage-Gate process.

3. Review complex electrical wiring designs in AC or DC, including accessories and connectivity with the overall system, to provide the best-in-class installation procedures, innovative hands-on solutions, and field testing.

4. Initiate and launch novel service solutions such as our cable repair kits, emergency nitrogen purging services, labor-saving estimators, calculator tools, and GO vs. NO-GO testing recommendations.

5. Utilize extensive application knowledge of the electrical power system and Voice of the Customer to create smart web-based calculators, engineering whitepapers, and technical reference documents on the website.

6. Coordinate and execute technical requests for RFI/RFQ and bid proposals using Our Internal Services Support engineering spec website to gain approvals specifically related to government-funded projects to support bipartisan infrastructure bills.

7. Promote Our Services' branding by generating Talks customer training videos, authoring Re3TM engineering whitepapers, publishing magazine articles, hosting live webinars, and serving as keynote speakers at trade shows and conferences.

8. Lead codes and standards development activities and drive the spec through the adoption of new requirements

* Each subject matter expert specializes in one of the eight emerging vertical markets and possesses hands-on experience in tools, connectors, splices, terminations, and accessories.

Future Team State:

* Over 50% of the time is spent on interfacing directly with customers. We understand the pain points in each complex electrical system better than anyone else, including the end users. The niche application knowledge will enable us to deliver UL-listed and NEMA-certified connectorized wire & cable solutions to electrical contractors, design engineers, project owners, and EPCs.

* Business Alignment:

o The expanded organization will successfully identify customers' technical challenges during the life cycle and translate them into specifiable engineering attributes for custom-assembled systems, calculators, installation tools, handling equipment, software, and field-testing solutions.

1. Industrial and International: Data Center, Telecom/5G, EV, transit, renewable, ports & airports, factory automation, mining, semiconductor, and harsh environments.

2. Infrastructure and Canada: Data Center, factory automation, transit, DOT, wastewater treatment, agriculture, food & beverage, innovative SIM solutions, and labor-saving estimator.

3. Utility: Services, strategic undergrounding, grid hardening, offshore wind & submarine, wildfire & storm mitigations.

4. Product Management and R&D: Nearly 250 new ideas have been submitted into the Stage-Gate process. We will continue to be the top idea contributor and lead the innovation scoreboard to support new product development projects across all businesses.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering

* A minimum of 15 years of equivalent experience in the Electrical Industry

* Electrical Engineering: application support and/or product engineering experience in the Wire and Cable, Power, Utility, Manufacturing, or Electrical Industry is required.

* Hands-on experience in cable splice & terminations and connectors is a must.

* Willing to travel up to 75% of the time

* Experienced and possesses very strong skills in presenting, communicating, and working with Client/Customers (I.e., Account Management/Business Development/Customer Service)

* Experienced and possesses very strong skills in presenting, communicating, and working with many internal teams as well as internal C-Suite stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Preferred --

o Master's Degree in Engineering

o Professional Engineer (PE) Certification

o Extensive field experience in residential, commercial, telecom, or utility installations is highly desirable

* Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates --

o Optical fiber termination, testing, and connectivity.
