Position Summary

At Stony Brook Medicine, a Lead Programmer Analyst - Revenue Cycle is a valuable member of our team, who will develop and support all revenue cycle systems that the department is responsible for. The incumbent may be assigned to a project team as part of technical build resource, system conversion or support any production systems to ensure the availability of the applications. Duties of a Lead Programmer Analyst - Revenue Cycle may include the following but are not limited to:
  • Providing support to all Revenue Cycle applications including Siemens INVISION, Cerner PMOffice, Cerner Revenue Cycle, Capacity Management, Enterprise Wide Scheduling, HANYS, Telehealth Scheduling, EMPI, Teladoc and Telavox
  • Providing recommendations on industry and application integration trends in analyzing and planning current and future IT needs.
  • Establishing architectural standards and frameworks to ensure that standards are consistently applied.
  • Providing technical guidance on complex and cross application architecture challenges, playing an active role as a technical expert during all phases of the application development life cycle.
  • Participating in architecture brainstorming and design discussions with team members.
  • Coordinating activities of the technical and functional teams that include resolving system design issues, identifying technical and infrastructure requirements, developing testing, training and conversion plans along with workflow documentation.
  • Coordinating appropriate resources in the development of foreign system and interface specifications.
  • Assisting in development of detailed project plans in regard to the build tasks necessary to complete assigned projects and working closely with deskgnated Project Manager.
  • Determining the order and timing in which tasks must be completed. Developing and maintaining environmental/domain planning according to project timelines.
  • Assisting project teams in planning and coordination of testing and training plans. Identifies the resources needed and the role of each member of the testing team.
  • Monitoring projects continually in terms of the timeline and overall quality. The incumbent facilitates communication between all parties involved in an implementation to ensure that the teams are effectively working together.
  • Facilitating the resolution of issues in production environment, with conversion activities as well as within the framework of assigned projects. Escalates major issues to Supervisors and Director. Works closely with the vendor and internal resources to resolve open issues.
  • Communicating with all stakeholders and IT teams with upcoming system changes/modifications. Determining and analyzing possible impacts to other systems and participating in risk mitigation planning.
  • Applying outstanding , immediate and consistent customer follow up and communication.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field will ensure that the incumbent has the conceptual skills required for this demanding role.
  • At least 2 years experience in Healthcare related IT applications.


Preferred:
  • Experience with Siemens Invision and Cerner applications, including PMOffice, Capacity Management, and Enterprise Wide Scheduling.
  • Experience with Revenue Cycle architecture, system conversions, interfaces, system migration with onboarding new hospitals, integration of downstream systems, SPARCS, patient flow and throughput, census reconciliation, electronic forms design, rules maintenance.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $69707 - $84970 / year.

The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.

• Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
