Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a Lead Project Engineer/Release Train Engineer responsible for leading a project team, including subcontractors, to meet customer requirements within allocated cost/schedule commitments in growing business area.
- Execute program in Agile Methodology utilzing scrum and being a scrum master on the program.
- Work closely with Program Manager and Program Finance Administrator roles in tracking and using EVMS metrics to track progress and reduce variances.
Essential Functions:
- Create and report on program variances in the proper formats and EVMS techniques.
- Assist program project engineer for the program Integrated Master Schedule development and timely execution. Understands and mitigates risks and problems before they cause schedule slip.
- Oversees and removes roadblocks for the Program Scheduler role in development and management at a lower level of detail in IMS mechanics.
- Leadership stakeholder in developing and managing the program cost baseline.
- Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities.
- Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
- Interface with customers at multiple levels (executive to engineering)
- Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
- Lead a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and have regular contact with customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Experience as a Scrum Master on software development projects using Agile methodology and driving program execution.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- Active Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Project engineering experience on ground-based radar space systems (UEWR preferred).
- Experience in project management.
- Experience with Government contract acquisition lifecycle a plus.
- Experience with management of design to cost activities.
- Experience working with subcontractors in meeting their schedule commitments.
