DESCRIPTION

The Lead Resource RN demonstrates clinical knowledge and technical expertise per the RN scope of practice with emphasis in Primary Care. Assess and triage patients based on acuity. Uses well developed assessment and critical thinking skills to deliver all nursing care. Lead and monitor staff competency training. Lead and participate in clinic improvement projects such as clinical quality improvement, cost reduction and patient safety initiatives. Partners with physicians and other staff triaging patients by phone or in clinic to provide high quality patient care. Educate patient and/or family about diagnostic procedures, medications, and discharge instructions.

Document all treatments given in patients' charts. Document all necessary procedures and supplies used on the patients' encounter form. Prepare supplies and equipment and assist Providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures. Performs other department tasks as needed. Act as a role model and resource for other LVNs and Medical Assistants. Organize and maintain clinic equipment and supplies. Order, monitor and maintain clinic medication stock.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Active RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Must have a minimum one year of active Primary Care RN experience.
  • Triage experience with both pediatric and adult patients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN or MSN
  • ACLS and/or ART
  • Three to five years or more of RN experience.
  • Leadership/Supervisory RN experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII or CNIV level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
