About this job:

Provides subject matter expertise in school nutrition software essential to daily operations. Ensures compliance with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and all United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines on the nutrition programs offered by the District.

What You'll Do:
  • Provides subject matter expertise for all school nutrition software support essential for the daily operation of the department, including but not limited to menu planning, production, and inventory.
  • Oversees accuracy of food orders in the system.
  • Provides timely and accurate communication and technical support for the area supervisors with a focus on strong customer service.
  • Serves as contract coordinator for other District programs (e.g. Early Childhood) requiring nutrition services.
  • Acts as USDA and CDE compliance expert.
  • Develops and maintains breakfast, lunch, snacks recipes and menus.
  • Collaborates with food buyers and food warehouse managers to ensure food product availability and substitutions.



What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Three years minimum experience in school food service management, including working with school nutrition software and working knowledge of school cafeterias.
  • Experience with and knowledge of federal and state guidelines as they apply to child nutrition and K-12 programs.
  • Experience in menu planning, recipe development, testing and preparation for high volume institutions, with in-depth understanding of food cost, menu development of food cost and bid specifications.
  • Proficiency with school nutrition software (Primero Edge preferred)
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
