Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Rockwall is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Tech to join ourteam!!!

Lead Sterile Processing Tech at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Rockwall:
  • The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
  • The Lead Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for supervising and assisting with the cleaning and sterilizing of all items pertinent to the operations of the center.
  • Makes decisions regarding sterilization department needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members and/or leaders.
  • Helps maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the unit as a whole.
  • May have additional responsibilities as designed by the Clinical Director/Facility Administrator, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

Education/License:
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - CRCST (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BLS certification preferred.

Required Experience:

Required Experience:
  • At least 4 years' experience as a SPD/Instrument Room Technician in multiple specialties.
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  • Knows operating room instrumentation.
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
  • Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
  • Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
  • Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
