POSITION SUMMARY:

This level of Lead MHT Educator functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients and other staff from adolescents to geriatrics depending on the specific unit worked. The Lead MHT Educator will work under the direction of a Nurse. The Lead MHT Trainer trains new hires and staff CPI/BLS. The Lead MHT Educator ensures all employees meet the competencies to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention and BLS. The Lead MHT Educator will have direct supervision of MHTs and will act as an extension of Leadership with the authority to educate and/or discipline staff if needed.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Degree/GED required; or Associates Degree in a Human Services field; or Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field; or a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of two years of work experience in a behavioral health facility.

Bachelor's degree in social services or related field, plus one year of work experience in behavioral health service or delivery preferred. Must have previous experience as a MHT Educator/Trainer in Behavioral Health

Additional Requirements: Must have a current valid driver's license with no DWI/DUI violations in the last 3 years (see driving policy). Must be 18 years or older and have a good driving record as obtained from the Department of Public Safety. Must be certified to train in CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention.

WORK HOURS: 8 and 12 hour shifts available. PRN employees must work four shifts per month, one shift must include a weekend.
