Responsibilities

Valley Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Lead UR Coordinator!

The Lead Utilization Review Coordinator manages utilization management data and information flow for inpatient and outpatient services; ensuring that activities are integrated and non-duplicative; oversees initial certifications and re-certifications as required; ensuring that reviews are completed in a timely manner; receiving, collecting and summarizing utilization -related data and ensuring the department is adequately staffed and trained. The UR lead assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company's requirements for continued stay and discharge planning. The UR lead advocates for the patient's continued coverage of services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact. The lead coordinates peer to peer reviews with their attending physicians schedule to advocate for continued stay. The Lead will continue to obtain authorization after patient discharges through retro authorizations and denial appeals timely.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or related degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years-experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management.

Licensure: L.M.S.W., LPC, or other healthcare - related licensure preferred. Additional Requirements: Valid CPR card upon hire. Successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior (HWC) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
