The Opportunity
  • Develop online courses and/or curriculum by applying instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory and in collaboration with instructional designers and subject matter experts.
  • Utilize a variety of digital content creation tools, such as Adobe Captivate, Adobe Suite, Camtasia, and Articulate 360, to produce dynamic and interactive e-Learning content, including custom graphics, animations, and audio-visual materials, aimed at enhancing knowledge transfer and learner engagement.
  • Design and develop appropriate training solutions, including courses, curriculum, and modules that utilize a broad range of interactive, creative, and intuitive instruction methods.
  • Continuously evaluate and update existing course materials to address any gaps, incorporate new learning strategies, and improve the overall learning experience, with a particular focus on reflecting the diversity of learners and incorporating cultural sensitivities.
  • Develop storyboard/script with text, voice, sound, graphic, descriptions and instructions for production team.
  • Assess current curricula and course materials and identify gaps or potential solutions for enhancing materials, learning experience, and knowledge transfer.
  • Edit audio and video as needed within and outside of Articulate 360, such as Audacity.
  • Decide on the criteria used to measure learner's performance and develop assessment instruments.
  • Provide guidance on E-learning best practices and current methodologies to achieve consistent, quality E-learning content.
  • Ensuring consistency in course design and alignment with the organization's educational strategies, contributing to the development of digital content for platforms like SharePoint to boost user engagement and support business initiatives.
  • Lead meetings and projects with tailored facilitation strategies to engage diverse groups, ensuring discussions are focused on actionable process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance process flow and documentation, focusing on leveraging automation and technology to boost productivity and quality in educational tools and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of existing policies and procedures to pinpoint inefficiencies. Work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and implement optimized solutions that meet both business objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Utilize advanced measurement and analysis techniques to systematically identify areas for process improvements, ensuring data-driven decisions that enhance departmental performance.
  • Craft, refine, and oversee the implementation of process documentation, training materials, and improvement strategies, ensuring relevance and accessibility for Education & Experience and interconnected departments.
  • Partner as needed with others, such as managers, system administrators, instructional designers, and/or other departments to develop education solutions and best practices for various departments throughout the enterprise.
  • Provide project coordination as needed for projects by supporting small teams with whatever are needed; examples include but not limited to organizing training logistics, testing technology infrastructure, editing digital content and media for other projects or programs, creative thinking and responsive problem-solving, etc.
  • Consult as needed on project planning, time management, layout, and user engagement.
  • Train and support extended team members on various instructional designer aspects in various software programs, e.g., learning management system, course authoring tools, PowerPoint, SharePoint, surveys, etc.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the ongoing development of the education and experience initiatives.
  • Support team for various off-site events or SumTotal related training as needed. Participates in team retreats as scheduled.

Required Experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree instructional design, education, business, or communication or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of four years in Process Improvement role or similar experience required.
  • Minimum of two years in Content Creation or similar experience required.
  • Experience in planning and designing interactive multimedia training tools, including design, course development, and in project management required.
  • Significant experience working with tools including Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Canva, Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite products, and basic HTML or other coding required.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or Educational System Administration preferred.
  • Experience with the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with a multi-state company preferred.
  • Experience building and analyzing reports preferred.
  • Experience in graphics, user/learner experience (UX/LX) design principles, and aesthetic preferred.
  • Experience with Instructional Design or adult education (learning principles) preferred.
  • Experience with multimedia development (audio, video, animation) preferred.
  • Ability to seek innovative ideas and look for improvement and streamlining opportunities in process and procedure.
  • Ability to make decisions, formulate and provide recommendations and solutions for planning, integration, system functionality, and evaluation with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with varying priorities and execute complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to be adaptable, learn quickly and use new technology and software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with drive and initiative, but also work well within a teamwork setting.
  • Ability to interact in person, over the phone, and with electronic media with a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Strong consultation skills and the ability to seek out information and provide quality advice.
