This position is critical in shaping the strategic trajectory of the HR Enterprise Learning & Development group (ELD), aiding company-wide initiatives in Leadership, Employee, System, and technical training programs. The role involves significant contributions to managing training projects for new role-specific programs, emerging technology systems, or updating materials for current systems, in addition to related operational and business process support.

The Advisor role involves close collaboration with client training leads to embody the interests of SCE throughout the lifespan of a project or program. It necessitates robust facilitation capabilities, exemplary organizational skills, and articulate communication to guide the creation and execution of learning solutions that have a significant enterprise-wide impact.

The Advisor, as an independent contributor, will offer top-tier expertise autonomously in aiding the organization's objectives for learning and development. This role involves overseeing significant training benchmarks that align with human performance enhancement using a range of educational strategies. Furthermore, they will oversee instructional designers throughout the training process, including analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation phases of a project. This role is crucial in contributing to the strategic direction of the HR Enterprise Learning & Development group (ELD), ensuring that the workforces at SCE and EIX possess the necessary knowledge and skills to comply with both corporate and regulatory standards.

  • Independently lead and manage multiple training projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain a high level of organization in managing projects, workflows, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement learning solutions that meet organizational goals, providing subject matter expertise and guidance.
  • Design and deliver training programs for leadership development and employee skill enhancement and technical training.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of program facilitation.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops, both virtually and in-person, to diverse audiences.
  • Highly proficient in engaging audiences, fostering interactive learning environments, and managing group dynamics in both virtual and in-person classroom settings.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers.
  • Oversee the operational aspects of the training programs, including scheduling, logistics, catering, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of learning management systems and maintain up-to-date training records.
  • Manage inventory of training materials and ensure all necessary supplies are available for each session.
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to procure training resources and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with EL&D peers and client stakeholders to align training program management and operations with organizational goals.
  • Develop, implement, and lead program, project, and instructional design standards and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to instructional designers and subject matter experts in adhering to learning design standards and procedures.

The essentials
  • Sevenyears leading training, Instructional Design for organizational unit-related projects or programs.
  • Three or more years experience in logistics, resource and/or organizational management, preferably within a training or educational environment

The preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, or HR Discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects or programs.
  • Experience consulting with management on training initiatives.
  • Experience with automation of processes and resources.
  • Experience developing and deploying training programs.
  • Experience with leadership, employee, technical, safety or regulatory compliance areas.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization including executives and build relationships with appropriate constituents inside and outside the organization.
  • Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Must have strong ethics, influence and negotiation skills, leadership, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.


You should know

This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
