DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Real Estate (RE) provides real estate services for the UC San Diego campus investment portfolio of university-owned and leased property valued in excess of $1.2 billion and a pipeline of projects valued in excess of $3.5 billion. The RE Department is responsible for negotiatingand implementing public/private partnership development projects, property acquisitions and dispositions, on-campus leasing to third parties including retail and research tenants, and off-campus leasing as landlord and as tenant. RE is a comprehensive real estateorganization whose objectives are to complete real estate transactions on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of its clients and as a fiduciary for The Regents. The office comprises functional units that include leasing as landlord and as a tenant, licenses, fiscal managementand administrative services, property acquisitions and dispositions, public-private partnership development and asset management.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial and Business Operations of the Real Estate Department, the Lease Analyst - Data Management Coordinator is primarily responsible for abstracting commercial lease data and maintaining the RE Department's commercial leasedatabase system with highly accurate and reliable information. Determines appropriate scope, requirements, and deliverables, and works with staff to find solutions to preserve data integrity while accommodating end users' needs.

Serves a the department "Super User" on the lease portfolio management system functionality and is responsible for report generation and data abstraction for day-to-day operations and periodic policy compliance reporting and fiscal support of UC San Diego real property projects and transactions. The RE Department transacts approximately 145 lease and license agreements annually consisting of new leases and licenses as well as amendments to these agreements. The Lease Analyst - Data Management Coordinator abstracts all relevant data ofthe lease and license agreements and accurately enters the abstracted data into the Tririga Lease Database System. Responsible for abstracting, maintaining, and verifying the accuracy of the data entered in the lease database, including identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement that increase efficiency and accuracy, and conducting periodic training of Real Estate Department staff on Tririga functionality and maintaining internal documentation as support material for on-the-job training. Other responsibilities includefrequent collaboration with Real Estate business units and other departments to create and format reports in Tririga as needed and working with Information Technology Services staff to enhance and test the system when required. As a Super User, the Lease Analyst - DataManagement Coordinator will participate in the integration of Tririga with other University systems, e.g., the Oracle financial accounting system, and the development of new reporting tools to monitor data quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in real property leasing, property management, real estate terminology, contract writing and interpretation, administrative analysis, and operations research.
  • Experience in real commercial property leasing and commercial property management. Realestate knowledge including understanding of lease abstraction.
  • Experience with and knowledge of real property lease interpretation in order to verify compliance with financial terms.
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload and work well independently, including taking initiative, ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions, and to develop timetables and strategies to meet multiple and constantly changing deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills, in a PC environment, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications for producing complex legal contracts, financial analyses, and database development.
  • Must be detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, with the ability to work independently, excellent decision-making abilities, and excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount to the success of this position.
  • Skills in record management (paper-based and electronic).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret written material, financial data, and computer-generated information; and prepare concise, professional, well-organized reports, financial analysis and summaries.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and skill in problem-solving, data gathering, analyzing problems, making recommendations, and implementing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present ideas concisely and clearly, in written and oral forms, to a broad variety of university and public professionals, using tact, diplomacy, good judgment, and confidentiality.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
