Description of Work
The Forensic Science Program in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ( UNL ) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources ( IANR ) is seeking applications for a crime scene investigation position at the rank of lecturer. This 9-month (academic year) non-tenure track appointment is 100% teaching. This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Specific Duties
  • Developing and teaching forensic science classes at the undergraduate level;
  • Mentoring undergraduate students; and
  • Complimenting and expanding the existing experts in the Forensic Science program at UNL .

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in forensic science or a closely related field.
  • Training or professional work experience in forensic science.
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of crime scene investigation, including but not limited to the scientific theory of crime scene investigation, crime scene reconstruction, advanced knowledge of proper crime scene protocol, and evidence identification and processing techniques.
  • Evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in physical evidence analysis, bloodstain patterns, photography/imaging, crime scene management, microscopy, and impression evidence.
  • Previous professional experience in either a forensic laboratory setting, forensic science investigations unit, or as an independent forensic consultant.
