Summary

The Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs hires Lecturers in Health Sciences for temporary, non-tenure track positions to fill open sections of courses across the curriculum. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time), usually for only one course/lab section, and made on a semester-by-semester basis depending upon current needs.

Work Location: Typically, on-site; position may be partially remote, based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined by the supervisor.

Salary Range: Pay dependent on number of courses taught. Generally starting at $1,333 per credit hour. This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Benefits

Employees accrue 14.67 hours of vacation per month and 10 hours of sick leave per month based on a 100% appointment. For appointments of less than 100%, vacation and sick time will be prorated accordingly. For additional information on these policies, please see: https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/5062

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Health Sciences or related field


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching as a lecturer or teaching assistant (TA) or graduate assistant (GA)


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
