The Department of French and Italian seeks to fill a Lecturer in Italian position to teach, on campus, one or more precepts for ITA 319: The Literature of Gastronomy during the spring 2025 semester. Responsibilities include attending lecture sessions, teaching precept(s), grading student work, and holding weekly office hours. Appointment duty time is subject to enrollments and departmental need and is expected to begin January 16, 2025. Review of applications begins December 6, 2024 and continues until any available position is filled. Essential qualifications: Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, proven experience teaching Italian as a Foreign Language at university level, experience in program and curricular development highly desirable. Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. preferred. Experience in culture-based instruction, integration of new technologies and curriculum development. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Italian as a Foreign Language and/or Linguistics, SLA or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will be considered.
