Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Computer Science resides in the College of Computing & Software Engineering at Kennesaw State University. The department has more than 2200 undergraduate students in the ABET-accredited BS in Computer Science program, and over 400 graduate students in the MS in Computer Science and Ph.D. in Computer Science programs.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science with a preferred start date of August 2024. This is a nine-month contracted position.

Responsibilities

  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
  • Teach 4/5 courses per term (fall/spring) in computer science at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. This is a 90% teaching, and 10% service workload model.
  • Teaching courses online, hybrid or face-to-face as per department need.
  • Service to the Department, College, University and/or professional community is expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

To teach undergraduate courses:
  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required.
    OR
  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

To teach graduate courses:
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.

All required degrees must be earned by the start date.
