The Department of Data Analytics in the Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is accepting applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position to begin January 1, 2025, or August 1, 2025. This position is a one-year appointment that is renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and budget. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who apply before October 15, 2024.

Position Description/Duty Summary

Successful candidates will possess a Master of Business Administration or Master of Science in Information Systems, Quantitative Methods, Statistics, or a closely related field. Lecturers teach four classes per semester. Additionally, ideal candidates will:

  • Be able to teach courses in data analytics as well as other quantitative methods courses (e.g., information systems, artificial intelligence, forecasting, management science, or statistics).
  • Have relevant business work experience in fields such as data analytics and quantitative methods.
  • Be able to teach at a variety of times and in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
  • Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
  • Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional activities sufficient to maintain appropriate qualifications under AACSB standards.
  • Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
  • Demonstrate willingness to assist the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC's Strategic Plan.
